Our Little Family

I’ve been absolutely in love with these baby goats.  Less than 24 hours after being born, they were jumping, running, and playing….and eating. And they let us pet them and hold them.  Not like baby kittens that hiss and spit if you just approach them.

Family2

That’s Prissanthemum aka Prissy eating.  SnoBall is the white one of course.  He’s a boy and Prissy as expected is a girl.  Cute, cute, cute.  They’re 4 days old now and are growing like little weeds.  They jump on each other.  Prissanthemum jumps up on her Mom’s side.  We are really enjoying watching them.

Kermit, the male Pygmy is miserable because we’ve separated them in a different enclosure.  He lifts up the tarp on the side of the barn and lays there so he can see the little family.  Today, he wanted to be with the babies to play.  I’m thinking he’s just a bit too enthusiastic at this point.

Someone had asked about Sugar.  He’s the Boer goat we had that liked to pose for pictures.  He developed a urinary obstruction last year and we had to have him put down.  He was a character and we miss him.

On another note, Don is officially retired now.  He’s excited and I’m already dreaming up projects!
