Yummmmmmmmmmmm

I love the fruits of summer time.  Especially watermelon.  Especially yellow meated watermelon.  Papaw Dorsey grew them in Attala county Mississippi and we ate yellow watermelon every summer.

I’m not a child any more but I still love yellow melon the best.  And now I’ve got Beth hooked on yellow melons.  We spent a couple days with Chris for 4th of July and we started looking for yellow melons as soon as we got there.  There’s a little old man who hobbles around that we buy them from but he said it was too early for the second crop.  Sob.

So, all the way home we stopped everywhere melons were being sold looking for the elusive yellow ones.  As we drove into Krotz Springs, LA we spotted a truck with a load of melons on a trailer and stopped.  Yep, he had them so we got 2 for us and 1 for Beth.

Yummy yellow watermelons on the left and one red watermelon on the right.

And then we turned to get back in the truck and the sky to the north looked like this.

SkyKrotzSprings2_450x600Kind of scary don’t you think.  But it’s pretty too.  We were fortunate enough to avoid the storm the rest of the way home
