Lots of Little Purses Quilt

Ann Smith presents wonderful mystery quilts on New Years Eve Day on TQP and in the past I haven’t been able to play along due to the fact that I usually worked New Years Eve.  Since that’s not an issue anymore, I started the mystery along with everyone else online but I got bogged down in life and have just now completed the quilt.   I added pieced sashing to it so it’s not exactly like Ann’s finished design.  I quilted it on my Grace/Juki setup and it looks pretty good from a galloping horse.  🙂

It started out to be a baby quilt for a new niece but was way too big for that.  Vanessa was here working on her mystery also on NYE Day and her daughter Faith and my DS Chris were helping us trim, iron, etc.  Faith was totally in love with my fabric…. Lime green with lots of little purses all over it.

Since it was much larger than I intended for it to be, I decided to also make more blocks to make a smaller quilt and to give the original to Faith.  She doesn’t know it but she’ll get to claim it when she comes over this afternoon.

I even put a label on it.  That’s probably my least favorite part of making a quilt.

Do you think she likes it?
