Christmas Town Sampler—A Collaboration Among Friends

My good friend Denise  (justquiltin) who I met online many years ago has a habit of twisting my arm.  I’ll have to admit that she usually doesn’t have to twist too hard to get what she wants.  How can I refuse her?  She’s a great friend and she really has great ideas.  I met Denise & Susan (Patchkat) through internet quilt block swaps.   Somewhere in that time frame, I met Judy in an online group.  We’ve chatted online for a long time and we’ve gotten together in different locations in Arkansas, Texas, and Louisiana for quilting retreats.So….what is this collaboration?  Denise has come up with the idea of a part BOM /part Mystery/part Blog-Hop Christmas in July Sampler.  I don’t know about you, but this sounds like fun to me!  We may have too much fun doing this!

Christmas Town Sampler

Denise has designed the border of the quilt.  Susan, Judy, and I will design the center blocks.  Denise is letting you see what the border looks like so you can get a feel for the project….or should I call it an “adventure”?

Denise will post the general information on her blog in June and the final instructions in November.  The patterns will be posted on our blogs during the months of July, August, September, and October.  You will have to visit each of us during those months in order to collect all the patterns.

All pattern files will be in pdf only.

I am excited about our project and I’m honored to work with 3 of my most  “favorite-est”  people!

The patterns will be available for a limited time only.  Each designer will determine the length of time “her” blocks are available.

Join us for some fine, quilty, fun!!!

  3. I love the border and will have to jump in and join. I’ve never done anything like this so I hope it’s not too difficult.

  4. Have it on my calendar. Will your blog tell us when it is posted and where the other bloggers are? Thank you. venita

  5. Hope I can keep up :-)
The border is beautiful and really stands out. It will be lovely to see the end result later in the year.

  6. I have bookmarked Susan’s & Denise’s websites but have not been able to get Judy’s to load completly. However, I really want to do this too. The border is darling, looks challenging too.

  7. I’m a Christmas Lover, each year I begin a snowman quilt or wall hanging in a country theme. I’m looking forward to doing this quilt. I found your site in January 2012 & missed out on a great quilt. Thanks for the inspiration to keep on doing what I love.

  8. It takes me awhile to get around to finding all the great quilting blogs. A friend gave me this link. I’m going to put this in my favourites and make up this quilt. I need 6 more Christmas quilts for my family members and this will definitely be one of them. Thank you.
